Murrsuits, explained politely
Some suits are built for conventions. Some are built for after the convention. A murrsuit is the second kind, and the difference between them is one zip and a great deal of plausible deniability.
That is really it. There is no separate secret pattern, no special fur, no mysterious third workshop. It is the same hand-sewn suit everybody else is wearing to the dance competition, built with an open door policy.
The polite version
A costume is a closed system. We are simply offering you a door. What happens on the other side of that door is not our department, though we do hope you are having a lovely time.
We will never put this on your invoice in words your relatives could interpret. It is a zip. Zips are on coats. Nobody has ever been arrested over a coat.
Questions people whisper
- So what is a murrsuit, really?
- A full fursuit with a zip added. That is genuinely the whole technical answer. Everything else about it is context, and the context is between you and whoever you invite into it.
- Is it a different suit?
- No. Same head, same fur, same build, same everything. One extra piece of hardware and a rather different weekend.
- Can any full suit have one?
- Yes, and it is free. Every full suit we make can be built with a zip at no extra cost. You only have to tell us you want one.
- Do I have to explain why I want it?
- Absolutely not. "Add the zip please" is a complete sentence and we will not ask a single follow-up question. We have heard everything. We remember none of it.
- Will it look obvious?
- Not unless you want it to. Talk to us about placement and we will build to what you have in mind rather than to a default.
- Is this an adults-only thing?
- Yes. This option is for customers 18 and over, and we will confirm that before we build one. Everything else in the shop is for everybody.
How to ask
It is free. On a custom, tick the box and write as much or as little as you like. On a premade full suit, message us and we will sort it before it ships. The only thing we need from you is that you tell us, because we will not add one uninvited.
